Beautiful Red Lacquered Platters with Mother of Pearl - Set of 3 Overviews
These beautiful spun bamboo plates are hand crafted in Vietnam, and feature hand placed mother of pearl inlays. The lacquer originated in the jungle over 1000 years ago when artisans learned how to use the sap of the Succedanea tree to create a strong natural resin. Today it's one of the most beautiful and sought after folk arts in Asia.The plates come in three sizes, are food safe (hand wash only), or can simply make a beautiful display. The largest plate is 10 inches by 10 inches by 1.5 inches. (Some slight "imperfections" are normal due to the hand made nature of the plates, adding to their unique charm.)
